Can Series

This series emerges from everyday remnants——crushed aluminum cans, discarded packaging, and the traces of consumption. These objects, once part of ordinary life, are compressed, distorted, and reassembled into dense visual fields. What appears as debris is not merely about waste.

Each can carries the imprint of use, pressure, and time——transformed from a functional object into a record of human presence.Through repetition and accumulation, these fragments begin to lose their original identity. They merge into a collective structure, where individuality dissolves into mass, and order shifts into tension. The surface becomes both physical and psychological——at once tactile, oppressive, and strangely mesmerizing.

In contrast to the fluid and open space of the Pond Series, this body of work confronts a more condensed reality——one shaped by consumption, compression, and the weight of contemporary life.Yet within this density, there is also a subtle emergence.

Between layers of pressure and fragmentation, something begins to surface——suggesting not only constraint, but also the possibility of release.

        Through compression and accumulation,

the weight and traces of contemporary existence unfold.
